Once again, an evil god wants to wreak havoc among mortalspoor, poor mortals. Consequently, this RPG plans to have you wielding 50-plus spells and using medieval weaponry in a first- or third-person view to thwart said omnipotent type, whose name is Akbaa. The environments already look suitably middle-age (though somewhat cleaner), while the creatures, dungeon guards, and officers already look comfortably fantastic. As you fight valiantly against Akbaas evil cult, every act will have repercussions and youll embark on several mini-quests. Arx Fatalis will support multiplayer online play, too.

In Arx Fatalis, you are the only one who can defeat the secret cult of Akbaa, a god of devastation and chaos. The meat of the game will come from its magic system, in which you must learn magical gestures and draw them with your mouse in order to cast spells. The preview versions gesture system was hard to learn at first, but it eventually got much easier to draw mystical glyphs and cast powerful spells. Anyone interested in a more immersive RPG might want to give this one a try.

Arx Fatalis is already known for its unique magic system, but judging from the preview version, theres definitely more there to brag about. Youll take the role of an amnesiac prisoner who must defeat evil machinations of the cult of Akbaa. Youll fight against goblins, demons, and more as you rise in experience and learn tons of powerful spells. The magic system, in which youll have to draw runes in the air with your mouse to cast spells, will work better than youd expect, lending an air of practice and skill to the games spell-slinging action.
