Using a tweaked LithTech 2.5 engine, Global Ops will showcase a brutally precise ballistics system that calculates bullet trajectories and ammunition type in relation to object density in order to determine environmental damage, which, in turn, will be accurately rendered by a complex decal system. With over 10 real-life war zones teeming with 28 region-specific terrorist, guerilla, and rebel factions, Global may be so chaotically authentic, youll be fishing hot shrapnel from your skivvies for weeks.

Global Ops will be a realistic tactical shooter that carries you to over 10 real-world locationssuch as Beirut, Chechnya, and Sri Lankawhere youll get into trouble with 25 elite fighting groups based on real-world special forces, guerilla groups, and peace keepers. Up to 24 players will choose from customizable classes (sniper, heavy gunner, etc.) and team up in Global Ops multiplayer mode. A unique reinforcements system will bring players back into the game with parachutes and other troop deployment methods.

Think Counter-Strike meets Castle Wolfenstein, and youll get Global Opsa multiplayer tactical first-person game that will thrust you into real-world hot spots with real-world weapons. In the game, youll be able to choose from an armory of weapons and pick the class type of your character, then go out and bust caps in your opponents. The pace was already fast, furious, and full of non-stop action in an early build. The operation will begin in March.

Todays army consists of small squads with a big punch. Thats what Global Operations is all about: You team up with five other members to form a highly specialized modern-day commando unit. Each of the six elite soldiers has their own specialty, ranging from recon and demolitions to medic and sniper. Before you engage the enemy, you choose your specialty and buy weapons, then its off to the field for a gun battle with an opposing force that consists of the same number of talent.
Objectives are simple: If youre on the government-funded side, youll need to overrun an encampment or escort a VIP to safety. If youre on the most wanted list, youll have to defend the encampment or assassinate the VIP. Gameplay is fast, even when youre playing by yourself. The only gripe is that weapons still need to be better balanced for accuracy and power, but that can be easily fixed with a patch.
Who Dares Wins
Visually, levels like the cargo ship and a drug cartels mansion are imaginatively designed, plus the skin models look great. Even better, the gunfire rings in your ears with blissful realism.
