Review: Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance

The classic battle bot game is back for round four on the PC! Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance takes the mechanized warrior even further into the future with some of the best graphics to date on the PC. There are some goodies for Mechwarrior veterans like new weapons (the Long Tom artillery cannon packs a huge punch) as well as seven new mech types, but the heart of the old Mechwarrior games still beats within. Furious battles between fifty ton robots never looked or played so good, and Mechwarrior fans will love this latest chapter.

Graphics: Mechwarrior 4's graphics are simply awesome. The detailed terrain textures, fiery explosions, and excellent mech animations make it tops.

Sound: The music and voice acting are solid, but some of the weapon effects and explosions sound canned.

Control: Moving a fifty-ton mech isn't a simple task, and although the controls are complex, they're very flexible and responsive.

Fun Factor: A very tough simulation with great replay value and multiplayer gaming make this one of the top PC games of 2000.-- 0 / GamePro
