Preview: Startopia

Take elements from Sim City, Theme Park, and Dungeon Keeper, wrap 'em up in a giant space station and you've got an idea what Startopia is about. This bizarre sim-style game will have you colonizing a series of donut-like space stations and providing a home for the various alien species that will inhabit it. You will have to balance your budget while keeping the inhabitants happy by constructing a variety of facilities from casinos and hotels to discos and boxing rings. You'll also have neighbors to contend with and defeat through military, economic, or surreptitious means. The conquest begins when Startopia blasts off in early 2001.-- Brian Wright / GamePro
